Test methodology
What does the DOM Search Test measure?
It measures the performance of browser DOM lookup, CSS selector matching, and tree-traversal APIs.
What workload does the DOM Search Test run?
The test creates 2,500 items across 50 sections. It runs seven search phases three times, covering direct lookups, class and tag collections, simple and complex CSS selectors, TreeWalker, NodeIterator, closest(), and matches().
Does DOM Search measure DOM creation?
No. DOM creation and mutation are measured separately by the DOM Create Source Test.
How is the DOM Search score calculated?
Completed search and traversal operations are divided by elapsed time and multiplied by the official test weight. Higher scores are better.
How to interpret the result
The result reflects DOM lookup, selector matching, and tree-traversal throughput. It does not measure database performance.
